Introduction to Shih Chien University International Foundation Program

國際專修部（1+4）是由台灣教育部開設的華語學習計畫。該計畫提供國際學生在台灣學習華語先修的機會，包括第一年的華語先修課程與四年正式的大學課程。完成第一年的華語先修課程並達華語文測驗TOCFL A2後，學生將進入專業學系，繼續學習並完成大學學位。本校於2022年設立國際專修部(以下簡稱國專部)，以培育六大產業(製造、營造、農業、長照、服務、電商)所需海外青年人才。

The International Foundation Program (1+4) is a Mandarin language learning initiative established by Taiwan's Ministry of Education. The program offers international students the opportunity to study preliminary Mandarin courses in Taiwan, which includes a one-year Mandarin preparatory curriculum followed by four years of formal university courses. Upon completing the first-year preparatory program and achieving TOCFL A2 Mandarin proficiency, students will proceed to their specialized fields of study to continue their education and earn a university degree. In 2022, Shih Chien University established the International Foundation Program (hereafter referred to as the Foundation Program) to cultivate overseas youth talents for six key industries: manufacturing, construction, agriculture, long-term care, service, and e-commerce.

• 無需提交語言能力證書：申請時不要求具備中文能力證書，但在第一年結束後，須向學校補交中文能力證書。

• No Language Proficiency Certificate Required: Applicants are not required to submit a Chinese language certificate during the application process. However, after the first year, a Chinese proficiency certificate must be provided.

• Opportunity to Learn Chinese: The International Foundation Program offers students a full year of Chinese language instruction to enhance their communication and academic skills.
• Group Visa Processing Without Interviews: Students do not need to attend an interview at the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in Vietnam; only a school interview is required.
• First-Year Mandarin Prep Scholarship and Subsequent Tuition Assistance: Reducing the financial burden allows students to focus on their studies and enjoy life.
• Employment Opportunities: After completing their studies, students can seek job opportunities in Taiwan or return home to develop their careers.

獎學金

Scholarships

• 免學費優惠：華語先修課程第一學期全免學費。 
• 中文能力獎勵：TOCFL B1 級別考試通過者，可獲得 8,000 新台幣獎學金。 
• 大學獎學金制度：自大學課程起，依前一學期學業成績審核獎學金，學生須達到 班級排名前 20% 且操行成績 80 分以上，獎學金標準如下： 
• 大一：學費減免 50%
• 大二：學費減免 30%
• 大三：學費減免 20% 
• Tuition Waiver: The first semester of the Mandarin preparatory course is completely tuition-free.
• Chinese Proficiency Reward: Students who pass the TOCFL B1 exam can receive a scholarship of NT$8,000.
• University Scholarship Program: Starting from the university-level courses, scholarships are reviewed based on academic performance from the previous semester. To be eligible, students must rank in the top 20% of their class and have a conduct grade of 80 or above. The scholarship standards are as follows:
  • Freshman year: 50% tuition reduction
  • Sophomore year: 30% tuition reduction
  • Junior year: 20% tuition reduction

• 須畢業於經台灣教育部認可的高中、大學或學院。 
• 無需提供語言能力證書。
• The preferred age range is 18 to 22.
• Applicants must have graduated from a high school, university, or college recognized by Taiwan’s Ministry of Education.
• No language proficiency certificate is required.
