Building an International Career Stage! Shih Chien University International Student Career Fair Brings Cross-Industry Companies Together to Create New Opportunities for Staying and Working in Taiwan

In response to the Ministry of Education's "Professional Program for Guiding International Students at Universities and Colleges to Stay and Work in Taiwan," and in alignment with the government's active efforts to attract international talent, Shih Chien University held an "International Talent Career Fair" on March 20, creating a cross-border platform for career exchange. International students from around the world gathered on campus, freely exploring the many possibilities Taiwan's job market has to offer in a vibrant, multicultural atmosphere — making this event not merely a job-seeking platform, but a living forum for international dialogue.

The event brought together companies spanning technology, startups, services, and retail, showcasing Taiwan's industries' openness to and demand for international talent. In addition to face-to-face job matching, the venue also featured résumé review stations, UCAN career consultations, and interview skills coaching, providing students with tailored career support. As the opening ceremony got underway, industry-academia collaboration took center stage. Students moved between company booths, piecing together their own international career roadmaps — from corporate culture and language requirements to job responsibilities and future development prospects.

Designed with the needs of international students at its core, the event went beyond simply providing employment opportunities. It also offered in-depth explanations of the regulations and pathways governing foreign nationals working in Taiwan, breaking down informational barriers. Through real-time sharing and interaction with company representatives, many students submitted their résumés on the spot and even secured follow-up interview opportunities — turning the idea of "building a future in Taiwan" from a mere aspiration into a tangible, emerging reality.

A stamp-collection lucky draw was also incorporated into the event, encouraging students to engage actively with companies and career consultation services. As they collected stamps, students also took the opportunity to reassess their own positioning and find direction through meaningful exchanges, adding an interactive dimension to the career exploration experience.

Shih Chien University noted that, as global talent mobility continues to grow, the university will deepen its international student career guidance efforts through diverse initiatives such as career fairs, corporate seminars, and company visits, building a more comprehensive support system. Going forward, the university will continue to connect industry and academic resources to foster an open, welcoming, and internationally competitive environment — ensuring that students from every corner of the world can find their own stage here in Taiwan.
