Hosted by the Office of International Affairs at Shih Chien University, the "2026 Asia Summer University Language Program(ASU)" was successfully held from August 2 to August 22, 2026. This year's camp attracted many outstanding Japanese students who traveled across the sea to participate in a two- to three-week immersive language and cultural program. Participants spanned both the Taipei and Kaohsiung campuses, experiencing the university's diverse academic energy, exploring local neighborhoods and natural landscapes, and demonstrating great enthusiasm for cross-cultural learning and a spirit of brave challenge.

University Leadership Warmly Welcomes and Encourages Students to Broaden International Horizons

To express a sincere welcome to the international participants, Shih Chien University Chairman Mr. Hsieh Meng-hsiung and Vice President Mr. Kuo Shou-wang specially attended the welcome luncheon on August 6, gathering with all participants for friendly exchanges. Chairman Hsieh and Vice President Kuo kindly inquired about the students' living and learning adaptation in Taiwan, encouraging everyone to boldly broaden their horizons and deeply experience Taiwan's profound cultural heritage during the camp. The interaction was warm and lively.

Cross-Disciplinary Integration of Featured Professions; Brilliant Practical Highlights Across Twin Campuses

This year's ASU curriculum balanced academic depth with life practice. The core planning covered:

• Diverse Language Training: Tailor-made practical English and real-life Mandarin conversation courses to strengthen real-time communication skills.
• Featured Department Workshops: Combining the unique departments of the Kaohsiung campus, the program included "Print Design" by the Department of Fashion Design and Merchandising, "Drone Operation" by the Department of Information and Communication, "Song Jiang Battle Array Culture and Luohan Meal Experience" by the Department of Tourism Management, and "Coffee Brewing Experience" by the Department of Recreation Management.
• In-depth Cultural and Local Exploration: Footprints covered Dadaocheng, Lungshan Temple, Tamsui Old Street, and the Ketagalan Culture Center in Beitou. Students also visited Keelung, Yilan, and Beipu in Hsinchu for Hakka Lei Cha (pounded tea) and local revitalization industry tours.

Fruitful Results and Successful Conclusion; Laying the Bridge of Friendship for Transnational Youth

The camp drew to a perfect close with a warm and touching achievement presentation and closing ceremony. Participants demonstrated their learning outcomes from the past three weeks through fluent language presentations and vivid performances, expressing that this trip not only built language confidence but also yielded profound friendships across borders. Shih Chien University will continue to deepen international links, expand the platform for transnational youth exchange, and build an excellent and warm learning hall for students worldwide.
